Linda Mullen is the owner & founder of Grace & Diggs.

She credits a love of found shapes to childhood weekends spent roaming the woods with her feral friends where they built secret forts, wove dandelion crowns, and daydreamt their way through summer days.

Linda's current work is an anchor to those days. In re-imagining found materials, she remembers what is was to build whole worlds from a few scraps or create narratives from unexpected shapes.

Linda has practiced architecture and been a teacher - professions that are helpful to her current work in unexpected ways.

Originally, Grace & Diggs was a brick & mortar shop that featured handcrafted items for the home.

The name referenced graceful rooms along with the 70s slang for home - "digs."

Hats made out of recycled grocery bags were featured as decorative novelties for a town that values costuming, cosplay, and expressive fashion. Sourcing reclaimed materials, developing methods for turning them into wearable art soon became the main focus of Grace & Diggs.

As business evolved from retail to a studio-based practice the name stuck. The artistic life throws all sorts of challenges - digs, if you will. We strive to meet them with equal measures of lightness, grit, & grace.
